  • Parents and Siblings

    Martha - Shawn's Mother - 53
    Shawn, for many years, had a very complicated relationship with his mother. She didn't do anything when his father kicked him out, and for many years, he believed she was in agreeance with the decision. Years later, however, he learned that she hadn't had much choice but to go along with it. His father was very controlling, and as the years went on became more violent with her. Shawn helped to get his mother, and younger siblings still living at home, out of that situation as soon as he was aware of it. Now, he and his mother have a great relationship, and she's very supportive of him, as well as his siblings.
    Gabriel - Shawn's Father - 55
    Shawn absolutely hates his father. From being kicked out of the house, to his treatment of his wife, and simply the things he says and the opinions he holds. He's a terrible person, one who Shawn never wants to see again, or even think about.
    Josh - Shawn's Eldest Brother - 30
    Josh is not only Shawn's brother, but one of his best friends. He's the only one who actively stood up to their father growing up and called him on many of the terrible things he'd say. Had he been around when Shawn was kicked out, he absolutely would have stepped in, but unfortunately he wasn't there for that. He joined the army right out of high school.
    Aira - Shawn's Eldest Sister - 28
    Aira is the most distant of his family members. It's not that they don't see each other or talk, but more that nobody really knows what it is she does. They know that she's providing well for herself, but when asked about what she does for work, she always gives a vague response about it being freelance work. He doesn't try to pry too much, it's her life after all, but he'd be lying if he said he wasn't curious. She's always been the most independent and unbothered of his siblings.
    Hannah and Taylor - The Older Twins - 26
    These two do practically everything together. They're identical twins, and they absolutely live for it. The often dress similarly, have very similar taste in many things, and love going out and having fun. They're very fun people to be around and always have the wildest stories. They can be a bit too high energy at times, so Shawn doesn't see them too often, but they'll stop by sometimes and he always enjoys their visits.
    Mason - Shawn's Younger Brother - 19
    Mason and Shawn are fairly close. Mason has always been a very rebellious type, at least against his father. One time when he was 14, he ran away from home for a few weeks and crashed at Shawn's place. Mason and his friends are in a band, one that has had a recent surge in popularity. Mason is the drummer for the band.
    Autumn and Cassidy - The younger Twins - 13
    These two, while not as 'do everything together' as Hannah and Taylor, are best friends. Cassidy has always supported Autumn in everything, especially back when she had to hide who she was. Autumn is trans, and while she didn't know what the term was at a younger age, always felt weird about being a boy. Cassidy, always in private while the two lived with their father, was always supportive while she figured things out. Now that the two are away from their father, they can both be themselves. Shawn often visits the twins and his mother, and the two are always very happy to see him.

  • Extended Family

    Mara and Cassandra - Shawn's Aunts - 50 and 48
    Mara is his mothers younger sister, and Cassandra is Mara's wife. Shawn always loved seeing these two during family gatherings. They're fun and lively women, always with interesting stories. They both work in animal conservation. Shawn doesn't see them often, usually only at family events as they travel frequently for work, but they always make sure to show up to the yearly family reunion.
    Martin and Susan - Shawn's Aunt and Uncle - 47 and 46
    Martin is his mothers younger brother, and the youngest of the three. Susan is his wife. Family has always been very important to these two, and they're almost always the ones that plan different family events, such as christmas parties, thanksgiving, etc. They also host a yearly family reunion towards the end of the summer.
    Andrew - Shawn's Cousin - 24
    Martin and Susan's son. He's that typical fun cousin who always had the fun toys or game consoles. Since Shawn was the closest in age to Andrew growing up, the two would often hang out during family events. They still talk, but don't see each other too often outside of said family events.
    Oliver - Shawn's Cat - ~3
    A pale ginger and cream tabby cat that Shawn came across in an alleyway on his way home from work one rainy night. He was still just a kitten when Shawn found him, and from the look of him his mother wasn't going to be coming back. He's a pretty big cat, and a silly little guy. He's always nice to come home to.

  • Friends and Acquaintances

    Jake - Shawn's Best Friend - 22
    These two have been best friends since they first met in elementary school. When Shawn was kicked out of his house, he went and stayed with Jake and his family while he finished high school. Jake is a great friend and person. He's always willing to listen to and help his friends. When no one else will be there for you, he will.
    Miranda - Shawn's Other Bestie - 22
    She met the two a few years later, but she immediately became their friend. She's that friend that'll go along with whatever crazy idea you have, and have fun with it. Though, usually she's the one that has the crazy idea. She's the type of friend that'll absolutely fight god for you, and probably win. Her and Jake are dating.
    Ash and Kat - Online Friends - 23 and 22
    Shawn met these two online, and they're the only online friends that he actually considers true friends. He's met them a handful of times in person, but they mostly talk and hang out online in voice chats or video games.
    Max - Acquaintance - 24
    Shawn met him back when he first found Oliver, his cat. He worked at the pet store Shawn frequented. He's shy, awkward, and nervous. For a little while, he actually had a crush on Shawn, but that has since passed.
    Grace - Acquaintance - 21
    She was a coworker of Max at the pet store, and the two are close friends. She opened up her own pet grooming place recently, and Max also works there. She's very goth in her aesthetics, but quite bubbly in personality.
